Hi, we are Katja and Charlie, a Slovenian - French couple who found their home in this laid-back village in "the sunny side of the Alps". In 2022 we fullfilled our crazy dream of buying an older house and spent the next three years restoring it. Together with our two small children we are an outdoorsy family who loves spending time outside in nature, so we know the area very well and will happily give you some tips about what to see and do around here.

Welcome to Maison Lenka, our cozy home! Our 3-storey house has been fully renovated in 2025 and it is a nice mix of modern solutions and traditional architectural features. During the renovation process we have done a lot of work by ourselves and did our best to preserve some of the old charm. We saved and restored some items, upcycled the old wooden roof structure and reused it to build some of the furniture and decoration for our guest rooms. We live downstairs on the ground floor, while the two guest double rooms & studio are located on the first floor and the apartment on the second floor. Common areas include the spacious main entrance hallway with a table and a bench on the ground floor and a small library corner with books on the first floor. Both free public parking (reservations are not possible) and paid public parking (15eur per day) are located less than 100m from the house. You can temporarily park your car in front of our house entrance when arriving and departing to (un)load your belongings. We put our hearts and sweat into this project and are excited to host our guests in our home located in this beautiful mountainous area.

Our house is located in the heart of Rateče in a quiet village area with walking distance to several restaurants, a museum, a small children's playground and the main square in the village center. It is a great starting point for some of the hikes - you can walk up to Peč / Tromeja, Planica, Tamar valley and Zelenci nature reserve from our place. Cross-country ski trails are reachable on foot as well. Ski slopes, golf course, swimming pools, different sports grounds, Jasna lake and many other natural and cultural attractions are just a few kilometers away in Kranjska Gora.
