It is with great joy and excitement that we welcome you to our cherished home in Pišece, a place filled with history, natural beauty, and a deep sense of belonging. We are Joel and Primož, and we have lovingly restored this beautiful house from 1904 with every ounce of passion we have for traditional Slovenian craftsmanship and vintage design. The house you will be staying in is the largest of three on our property, offering 250 square meters of living space that brings together warmth, comfort, and old-world Slovenian charm. From its spacious rooms to its three inviting fireplaces, this home is a reflection of our love for the past and our desire to share that love with you. As you step outside, you will find yourself in a unique courtyard formed by the three houses, which opens up to a large 150m² terrace where you can relax, dine, and soak up the peaceful atmosphere. On warmer days, you are welcome to take a dip in the pool—a perfect way to cool off and unwind. Surrounding the house is our pride and joy: a 9,000m² garden that we’ve carefully cultivated. Here, you can stroll through the perennial garden, admire the islands of flowers, or wander through the orchard, home to the famous Pišece apricot trees. You are welcome to pick flowers, enjoy their beauty, and make yourself at home in every sense of the word. We designed this space not only as a home for ourselves but as a sanctuary for those who come to visit. We’ve poured our hearts into every detail, creating a space that reflects the beauty of the past while providing all the comfort you could desire. Pišece is not just a beautiful village—it is a place rich in history and culture. You’ll be staying in the heart of Kozjanski Park, one of Slovenia’s most treasured natural reserves. Here, nature and history are intertwined. Pišece Castle, dating back to the 13th century, stands as a sentinel of the village’s medieval heritage, though it is not open to the public. As you explore the village, be sure to visit the Pleteršnik Homestead, the birthplace of Maks Pleteršnik, the renowned Slovenian linguist who compiled the first Slovenian-German dictionary. This house, a cultural monument, is a short walk from our property and offers a glimpse into the life of this remarkable man Experience Nature Like Never Before Being located within Kozjanski Park, nature is truly at your doorstep. The park is known for its rich biodiversity, rolling hills, and extensive vineyards. You can embark on numerous hiking and biking trails directly from our home. Whether you wish to take a peaceful walk through the meadows, hike through the lush forests, or discover hidden viewpoints, Kozjanski Park has it all. The park is also part of a UNESCO biosphere reserve, meaning it is protected for its unique flora and fauna. For birdwatchers, photographers, and nature lovers alike, this is a haven. One of the highlights of your stay here will be the chance to explore the local wineries. Pišece and its surroundings are known for their exquisite wines, with vineyards dotting the landscape. Many of the wineries in the region produce organic wines, following traditional methods passed down through generations. Take some time to visit local wine cellars, taste the unique flavors of the region, and perhaps bring a bottle or two back to enjoy on our terrace as you watch the sun set over the hills.
