Set in the spacious surroundings of their lush tropical gardens, the chalets at The Great Escape offer a dramatic view of the jungle covered mountains that surround Yai Beach on Koh Phangan. Just a few metres from the beach, the garden location for these ten modern chalets offers a tranquil setting to enjoy beach days or just relax on your private veranda in a hammock. Despite being so close to the beach, dining and shopping in the local restaurants and shops is just a few moments away along the garden trails through to the main village, although you would never know it, as the privately run complex has the feel of Koh Phangan from yester year. But not inside the modern chalets, with their cool tiled floors, large bedrooms opening out onto a private veranda through sliding glass doors, an A/C in every bedroom, modern spacious bathrooms and king sized beds in some chalets. Thong Nai Pan Noi and Thong Nai Pan Yai are twin coves that form a scenic double bay and are the most popular beaches in the east and sunrise side of the island. Both beaches are the image of paradise with softly curved white sand bays surrounded by mountains covered in rich tropical rainforest. The surrounding mountains make these beaches fairly inaccessible with a steep and concreted road the only overland option; though road works have commenced to make it a dual lane concrete road, another way to get to there is by boat from Had Rin or Chaloklum.
