Just a short walk from the 7,000 year old Nyero rock paintings, these beautiful traditional style rural Ugandan round houses were constructed in 2023/4. Each building includes a basin, shower and Western style toilet. The thatched roof ensures a cool temperature inside. The properties include a double bed and can include a further double bed or sofa bed if required.
We don't have a formal restaurant as such but provide a cooked breakfast and can provide lunch or dinner or arrange a group meal around a bonfire.
The properties were constructed to help generate funds to support the Nyero Alternative Technology Training Centre. This was done in partnership with a UK charity, Transformational Enterprise Network, (TEN community). Feel free to contact this charity if you want more information. Several charity members road tested the guest houses before they formally opened and loved the experience!
We love welcoming guests! We can arrange transport to the guest houses if required and take you to the 7,000 year old rock paintings a short walk away. We can also take you on a hike over the rocks and through local villages, and / or arrange other trips (Lakes, birdwatching, etc.).
The big attraction is a walk around the Nyero rock paintings art site which is up to 7,000 years old.Additionally, 15 to 20 minutes drive to lake Bisina with beautiful lake View and Kapir rock art site which is few minutes drive away from our beautiful Guest houses. But the whole area is beautiful, with paths and gentle climbs over the smooth rocks. Kids of all ages will enjoy scrambling around the rocks and village life in the area continues largely unchanged. On site, as well as goats and chicken, there are often monkeys, and many different birds to identify. There are several fruit trees and fresh vegetables are grown on site.
