Leona Baer redesigned it in the Eastlake style, incorporating features like a double-story porch, decorative bargeboards, and a two-story bay window. The interior features elaborate Eastlake woodwork and a multi-colored floor in the first-floor vestibule. The inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is recognized as one of the best examples of Eastlake Victorian style in Mississippi. The house originally had 11 fireplaces, 4 cisterns, a wellhouse, and a carriage house, and notably featured an internal kitchen and a unique two-story outhouse.
