Reservations are processed by John Ogle who is a retired engineer. John joined son John, Jr in this fun Alaska venture. John, Jr. is your host during your stay on the property, assisted by several others of the family. Both John and John, Jr. enjoy just about all of the Alaska outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing, hiking and camping. John, Jr. is retired Alaska commercial fisherman and retired sports fishing guide.

Bear Paw Adventure's uniquely Alaskan log buildings have been erected on a 14-acre homestead property, located one mile north of historic Anchor Point. This is the first use of the land since the original homestead and much of the acreage has been left untouched, affording visitors an opportunity to enjoy a real sample of Alaska. The buildings have been constructed by the Bear Paw family using beetle-killed spruce trees.

Anchor Point, the gateway to Kachemak Bay, is an historic location. On May 27, 1778, explorer Captain James Cook sailed into Cook Inlet, looking for a Northwest Passage that would connect the Pacific with the Atlantic. His two ships anchored just offshore here and the next morning, attempting to sail north against the hard flowing tide, he was forced to drop anchor again to stop the ships from being carried by the tide back out of the Inlet. But the current was too strong, the anchor line parted and the ship's big anchor was lost to the bottom of the Inlet. Cook gave the name "Anchor Point" to the location near where that happened. The Kenai Peninsula is rich with exciting Alaskan adventures and fantastic scenery. All of this is right here at Anchor Point or in easy reach by day trips
