Before the ranch’s heritage as Mary Ellen Pleasant’s country escape, it was home to the grapevines of one of the region’s first fine wine pioneers, John Drummond. Continuing his legacy, the sustainably-farmed estate vineyard produces world class Sauvignon Blanc and Zinfandel.

Wine tasting opportunities abound in tasting rooms and wineries in Glen Ellen and throughout the Sonoma Valley. Glen Ellen is also famous as the last home of Jack London, author of "Call of the Wild" and numerous other books, who lived there from 1905 until his death in 1916, at the age of 40. London's Beauty Ranch is now the 39-acre Jack London State Historic Park.
