The property is in the heart of the Escalante Grand Staircase National Monument and is 10 minutes from the town of Escalante, Utah. This is a 2200 sq/ft, 3 bed, 3 bath home. The central living room design is inspired by the circular “Kiva” room of the Ancestral Pueblo Native Americans that previously inhabited the land, and left behind several cliff dwellings, pictographs and petroglyphs in the surrounding area. Half of the Kiva Great Room circle is made up of windows which acts as a passive solar heating system in the winter and gives the room a 180° panorama of the valley below. In the center of the room is a large cylindrical stone fireplace for romantic ambiance or fun group evenings. WINTER CONSIDERATIONS: Between Mid November and the end of February 4 wheel drive is recommended because of the possibility for snow.
