Downtown McKinleyville is a short two mile-drive where you can find plenty of dining options if you don't feel like staying in and cook for everyone. It doesn't matter whether you're an outdoor enthusiast or you're just looking for a quiet place to unwind, the charming McKinleyville is the place to be. There are plenty of trails for biking and hiking and the most popular is the Hammond Trail, which extends five and a half miles from the Mad River to Clam Beach.
