The north end of Colorado Springs is known for its larger, custom homes, quiet neighborhoods and private lifestyles. Less urban than other areas of Colorado Springs, the sense of "escape" here is palpable. The views of the mountains tend to be unobstructed. There are forests here. Access to outdoor recreation is superb, yet the modern conveniences abound too. Shopping and quality restaurants are relatively close. Gyms, grocery stores, outlets, food and drink are all within an approximate 5 - 10 minute drive. The area is also defined, somewhat, by its proximity to the Air Force Academy.
