Unique local flavor: Yearly July 4th fireworks show billed as the biggest fourth of July fireworks show west of the Mississippi. This year (2021) it will take place on Saturday July 3rd. Idaho Falls is the company headquarters for Melaleuca which makes a variety of wellness products. There is a store in downtown Idaho Falls where Melaleuca products are available. The War Bonnet roundup is Idaho’s oldest rodeo and runs the first weekend in August in Idaho Falls. The rodeo hosts a unique event called a “Wild horse race” which features several teams of three individuals penning a horse without a bridle, blanket or saddle. The winner is the team that gets a rider on the horse, bareback, and is able to ride a lap around the arena. Eastern Idaho State Fair happens the first week of September in Blackfoot, ID (30 minutes south of Idaho Falls). The eastern Idaho fly tying expo runs the each year the first week of April.
