Quiet rural agricultural community. Visit the Melungeon historical site and museum in Vardy community 1.0 mile west of chalet. (remember this is remote..... remember NOT to follow your GPS, but the given directions.) or enter link above for directions from Sneedville TN to the chalet. Park you car right at the entrance to the chalet. No public transportation. Please note to drive slowly along small country roads: there are plenty of healthy deer grazing in the valley. (more so at night!!) If you have to use your cell phone, drive drive back the way you came for about 1.75 miles until you get a signal on you cell phone...(some cell phones make WiFi calling)
