Laura and I have always had a passion for living in Hawaii and decided to make the move in 2002. We landed in Hilo and never looked back. We found our perfect 9 acres on a hilltop property near Hilo. We sold our businesses and home in San Diego County and made the permanent move January 2007. We built Island Goode's in 2004 with the idea of a guest house/bed and breakfast, having private entry and private bath for all rooms. This is a very special place away from the rush of traffic and crowds (Adult Only). We enjoy meeting people from around the world and sharing our Aloha for the Island. We want you to be excited about your trip, and if you need ideas on things to do we are here to help. We are very knowledgeable about the Island and can help you save time and money, so just let us know. We are in our 20th year serving our guests. In that time we have won many awards for our top reviews, on Trip Advisor and other review sites. We welcome you to come and enjoy our special piece of paradise.

Island Goode's is a beautiful 2.5 acre property located on the Hamakua Coast, 5 minutes from Old Hilo Town, in Papaikou. A lush green property up on a hill overlooking Hilo Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The best of both worlds: close to town, and out in the country. Enjoy quiet, relaxing moments on your private lanai while sipping your coffee or wine. Hammocks and comfy lounge chairs are there for your outdoor comfort. Each room has a King Size Sleep Number Bed, for your prefered comfort setting. Beautiful ocean and/or garden views from your room or lanai. There is a Pool or Jacuzzi steps away from your room. The property has many beautiful flowering plants and fruit trees. Pick and enjoy whatever fruit is in season on the property. We hope you'll come and enjoy our private piece of paradise. When you book the room, we will email you the gate code and self-check-in information. On arrival, you will find a welcome packet with all the detailed information about your room, amenities and the property. It will also include a map to help you navigate all the facilities. We are always available 24-7 if you need help, just call us.

We are located in a nice, friendly, and very safe area of the island. The Hamakua Coast is rich in history, going back to the sugar cane days. Hawaii Botanical Gardens is located on the Scenic Drive about 1 mile away. We live on a 2.5 acre property and are noted for our privacy and quiet location (Adult Only), yet we are 5 minutes away from "Old Hilo Town" and about 14 minutes from the Hilo International Airport (ITO).
