The guest suite has a private entrance, but is attached to our house. The guest suite has one main room with a queen bed, kitchenette, table, love seat couch, and tv. Connected to the main room is the bathroom, which has a shower (no tub) and basic bathroom amenities. The second bed is a twin bed that is stored in the closet. Due to fire codes the bed must be moved into the main room for use. If you would like to use the second bed, please notify us when you make your reservation so we can move it for you. There are two decks, on the east and west ends of the suite, both with views of the Knik valley and surrounding mountains. The Suite is attached to our house (via a staircase) with the bookshelf door that locks from both sides. The guest suite and upstairs decks are all exclusively for guest use. The hot tub is available year round, and primarily for guest use but we may use it on occasion if guests are not using it. Hot tub water is emptied and refilled on an as needed basis, and chemical levels and cleanliness are checked before each booking. No alcohol or food consumption is allowed in the hot tub. You are welcome to enjoy the yard and swing, which are common areas for the guest suite and our house. We have two dogs that are on the property. They are very friendly, but may bark at first. They are outside for much of the day, but we accommodate guests as needed, and we will do our best to keep them out of your way. It is understood that guests may come across and interact with our dogs during their stay. If guests have questions, host will be available via message, and are oftentimes on premises to help if needs arise. Our neighborhood is nestled into the Knik River Valley, 9 miles (as the crow flies) down the valley from the Knik Glacier. The neighborhood is surrounded by mountains and trees, with amazing views! There is an expanse of State of Alaska and BLM land surrounding the neighborhood which gives the feel of being much farther out of town than we are. We are within 30 min of the town of Palmer, and 15 min from the Butte community which has gas and a small store, stocked with essentials.
