Woodsy touches and sweet beagle faces decorate this charming space. Codex the beagle, a beloved family member of the builder and owner, is the namesake for this unique pup-inspired oasis. With all the darling dog decor, visitors might come away craving a beagle puppy! The tongue and groove pine, thick cypress beams, and abundant windows create a pleasant setting. The Codex has an open living room, including a sofa that opens into a queen-size sleeper, a beanbag chair, a side table with a reading lamp, an electric fireplace for chilly evenings, and flatscreen TV for snuggling up and watching a movie. Guests are welcome to play one of the many board games provided. Visitors can sit on the rustic pine swivel stools and dine at the large kitchen counter that looks into the kitchen. In the kitchen, guests will find all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay and easy meal prep; a full-size fridge with ice maker, a dishwasher and large stainless sink for quick cleanup, two burner cooktop, a toaster oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, all necessary kitchen utensils and cookware and even a full range of spices and seasonings. The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped with all the essential conveniences of soap, sponges, foil, coffee filters, coffee, and sugar, so you can arrive with just your groceries and spend your time having fun instead of provisioning. The cabin is steps from the Army Corps of Engineers Parker Creek Recreation Area on Lake Greeson, where there is a boat launch, RV camping, hiking trails, a swimming area, a playground, and an ATV staging area to access 37,000 acres of an adjacent wildlife management area. There is a 31-mile ATV trail encompassing Lake Greeson. You’ll be 30 minutes from Cossatot State Park- known for its white water rafting. For more serene water excursions, the Little Missouri River and nearby Caddo River feature beautiful scenery and great floating and paddling options, though water levels and speeds fluctuate throughout the year. For family water fun, Hot Springs Arkansas is 45 minutes to the east and offers hot springs bath houses, a theme park and water park, an ATV adventure park, and a mountain tower. More family fun can be had at the nearby zipline forest adventures. Try your luck at the Crater of Diamonds State Park, the only publicly accessible diamond field where visitors can keep any diamonds they find.
