My name is Danica Louw and I am the Operations Manager at 7 Koppies. My husband Francois is the Farm Manager. He grew up on the farm and knows the area like the back of his hand. We look after the day to day running of the farm. We love living at 7 Koppies as it has the best views in the valley. To be surrounded by such pristine nature is a real privilege. Situated in the Franschhoek valley and in the heart of the wine lands, we are perfectly located to enjoy the historic vineyards, incredible restaurants and extraordinary scenery this stunning part of South Africa is famous for. 7 Koppies can be enjoyed as a destination in its own right as the stunning hillside location, 125 acres of fynbos reserve, a 25 meter pool and a sauna which are very conducive to rest and relaxation. Alternatively, it is a perfect base from which explore Franschhoek and the Winelands. Our guests love the fact that they can so easily enjoy the wonderful restaurants and wine farms yet retreat to a haven of tranquillity within a matter of minutes. Since September 2023 we have state of the art invertors and batteries to provide electricity and WiFi in the event of "load shedding". Our batteries can last for 16 hours without being re-charged. The farmhouse feels like a home away from home. It has been beautifully furnished and has been featured in several newspapers and magazines in the UK including the Financial Times' "How to Spend It" magazine and House and Garden in which we were on the front cover! We have 3 suites, and 3 bedrooms all named after their most prominent view Valley, Court, Mountain, Orchard and Garden. There is also a Pool Cottage called Rockwood, which is a 8 minute walk from the farmhouse and is set in large private garden. In addition to breakfast we offer simple lunches and dinners using locally made produce and fruit and vegetables from our own garden.

There is so much to see and do in the vicinity of 7 Koppies. There are close to 50 restaurants and more than 50 wine farms within 10 minutes drive of 7 Koppies. Our favourite places to visit are Babylonstoren, the antique shops in Simondium, Boschendal, the Franschhoek Car Museum (one of the best in the world), the incredible art galleries in Franschhoek town, Franschhoek Pass, and Mont Rochelle Reserve for its wonderful hiking trails. Few places in the world have such a high concentration of top-notch restaurants. Let us know the style of food you like and we will recommend accordingly. In peak season the top ones can book-up many months in advance so forward planning is required. The valley is a sports lover's paradise with excellent golf, horse riding, hiking and biking.
