The Cowshed is a renovated small 1 bed room cottage: fully equipped kitchen with microwave and small fridge where you can make basic easy meals. Originally it was a real Cowshed on a farm, and it was used in the old days for the milking of the cows and they kept sometimes the calves in the shed. It is a very private sweet little cottage, ideal to find peace and quiet time just for one or two people. The cottage is on the edge of the village McGregor bordering on wetland and nature reserve de krans. Ideal opportunity to go for walks in the beautiful area. The cottage is surrounded by mountains. It has a little plunge pool for the hot summer days and a braai area outside in the private small garden setting. It has off street parking next to the cottage. The coffee shops and restaurants are a short walk away in Voortrekker Road where most of the coffee shops have WIFI facilities.

I am Sandra your host. At the moment I partly live in Cape Town in Observatory, where I am also renting out a guest room en-suite called ' Sandra's guest room.', and I live partly in McGregor. I enjoy to be sometimes in the city and sometimes in the country side, both brings me happiness. I fell in love with the pretty village and bought the Cowshed just over 2 years ago. On the plot with olive trees behind the Cowshed I have build my own cottage. I love gardening and nature and walking, In McGregor you can go for beautiful walks in the village between the pretty white houses or walk through the nature reserve De Krans and Vrolijkheid Nature reserve just outside McGregor or go for a mountain hike. There is a beautiful dam where one can swim just outside the village. One can make scenic drives in the area or go to one of the many wine farms in the surrounding areas.

McGregor is a friendly pretty village, there are nice coffee shops and restaurants in Voortrekker Road, here you find in most coffee shops WIFI. Every Saturday there is a market from 9 am in Church Street, next to the Church, here you will find fresh organic vegetables, eggs and nice home baked cakes and breads.There is even a little movie theater house "Wahnfried" where they hold music events and film screenings that anyone can enjoy. There is a retreat center "Temenos" with a beautiful tranquil garden. McGregor is a place where you can unwind, be with nature and relax and enjoy time out with a good book and a glass of wine.
