Black Cat Cottage is one of two units situated on a cliff edge, overlooking a conservation servitude, and within the peaceful residential area of Monteseel, Inchanga. The property offers panoramic views of the Valley of 1000 Hills. The cottage is off-grid and power is limited to lighting and powering up devices such as phones, laptops, internet dongles etc. There is a gas geyser and fridge, a small gas hob and a braai available for use. There is no microwave, airfryer or oven and there is no television. The main bedroom has a double bed with a bath. The loft has a double sleeper futon and leads out onto a balcony boasting 180 degree views of the Valley of 1000 Hills. This property is a bird and nature lovers paradise. Monteseel is a peaceful and safe residential area, nestled within a conservation setting. Situated just past the halfway mark on the Comrades Marathon route, it overlooks the Valley of 1000 Hills between Drummond and Cato Ridge. It is surrounded by cliffs almost the whole way around and has views second to none. On a clear day one can see the ocean and even the ships in the east and in winter the snow on the tops of the Drakensburg. The climate is moderate throughout the year, in summer occasionally peaking at 40+ degrees and in winter the average temperature is around 16 to 20 degrees. Monteseel has a lot of mist through the summer months and if you are lucky you will wake one morning to find yourself looking down on a vast, white blanket of cloud or thick blanket of mist at 826 meters above sea level.
