This is a unique cabin tree house style home nestled high up on a property making up part of the Table Mountain Reserve, overlooking the world heritage site,Orange Kloof, effectively the back of the Table Mountain reserve. Despite its apparent remoteness, it lies just 7 min from Houtbay central district and 12 minutes from Constantia shopping centre. Home has immediate access to many walking trails including the well known Vlakenberg hiking trail. All bedrooms have stunning views onto mountain ranges. On Directions. The best way to navigate to the lodge is as follows; 1. Place 12 Bay Road, Houtbay into your GPS. Do not use 12 Fynbos as there are 2 fynbos close and GPS often sends guests to a different location,namely plattekloof which is 40km out of the way. Please note the address given is NOT the lodge location only a way point. 2. Once there you will be at the end of a tar road with a dirt road ahead of you. At that location, stop the car and press your trip meter to zero and drive for 800m. 3. At the 800m mark there is a stone wall and a sign, with a road leading up to the property on your right hand side. Proceed up that road then take 2nd road left which is partly paved then 1st road right again, without stopping and follow the road until you reach the lodge at the top of the property. There is parking right in front of the lodge where guests may leave their car. The road can prove challenging at times during heavy downpours, and after dark, although over the 4 years that I have been operating most cars make the trip without much issues if directions are followed correctly.
