One of the many things that can be enjoyed at Chestnut Country Lodge is bird watching. There are a variety of birds that feed nearby. One bird in particular is the Brown-hooded Kingfisher, who can also be caught bathing in the garden birdbath. We have a dining area and do offer dinner on request and confirmation , our menu is a SET menu and is made with so much love and locally sourced products Our meals are super hearty and the wonderful chefs think of new set menus for the night each morning. We are situated in a convenient area where we can arrange all sorts of fun and informative experience activities like safaris and adventure excursions like river rafting and hiking and so much more ! Christine Curnow & business partner started Chestnut Country Lodge in Sept 1995. We left the city life for the Lowveld to enjoy nature and wildlife. We found an old farmhouse in the farming district of Kiepersol. The magnificent views, bird-life and peaceful surroundings as well as the location were perfect. We converted the existing buildings into suites and rooms. The past 18 years we have been rewarded with amazing guests, some who return again and again to enjoy with us our little piece of paradise. The tourism industry took a massive knock due to the pandemic and we went under new management and the experience of change and growth has been amazing , we are expecting plenty of new exciting upgrades and growth and we are looking forward to sharing this with our guests
