Fairhill is a lovely old farmhouse which allows for spacious (self catering ) gatherings of family and friends. The property is part of the Walker Bay fynbos and Nature Conservatory and has direct access to the private and secluded 17km long Walker Bay beach. The road to the beach os roughly 7km and needs a 4x4 for the sandy conditions. Take a leisurely walk through the estate and savor the smell of indigenous herbs and fynbos flowers. Gather on the patio at sunset time to see the beautiful sunset over the ocean and mountains. The house is spacious and comfortable and never feels crowded. We have white linen in all the bedrooms, and small soaps and amenities are provided. Each room has 2 pool towels as well as bathroom towels. The kitchen is fully equipped and we have coffee plungers and a filter coffee machine. There is a gas braai on the veranda. In summer the pool provides respite from the heat, and in winter light up a fire in the lounge for a warm and cosy evening. Pets can be accommodated on request., and rules apply. Casper the farm manager and his wife Magda live on the property he is on hand to assist with any issues if necessary. Daily servicing of the house can be arranged (in advance) at an additional fee.

Fairhill is our family farm and we love to go there, but we live in Johannesburg and only get the opportunity to go once a year or so. Its a wonderful retreat from the bustle of business life in the city. The views are spectacular and the peace profound. Its a wonderful place to recharge one's batteries, and to revel in the natural beauty and silence. The farm is part of a protected conservancy, and is a quiet and gentle space.

The area is a popular South African holiday destination. Hermanus is SA's premier whale watching town in season. Surrounded by the beautiful Overberg mountains for hiking and walking. Endless beaches for exploring and a great sea fishing destination. Nearby Gansbaai is world famous for white shark cage diving adventures. The fynbos trail is a 2 day slack packing hike on the neighbouring farm of Grootbos; where you find the world famous Florilegium. Visits by appointment only. There are many wine farms in the area, our favourite being Creation Wines in the Hemel and Aarde Valley.
