Cape Dutch cottage is set in a beautiful garden on the 18ha Greenhill Farm in Plettenberg Bay. The cottage is completely self-contained and separate from the Manor House and Parklands Cottage, with onsite parking. We have had over 100 5-start reviews! The one-bedroom cottage has a large lounge, with wood burning fireplace, leading onto a private garden. Here you can sit out in the sun or under the umbrella and enjoy, from your morning brew to your sunset drink. The visiting birds, and scent wafting from the gardens, is a reminder of how lucky we are in the countryside. The dining room leads off the lounge and has a separate workspace for those who can work from home. A fully equipped kitchen, (full stove, microwave, toaster, Nespresso machine, fridge/freezer and all the cooking utensils needed) makes holiday cooking easy. You are welcome to pick fresh herbs from our garden and use the variety of dry herbs and spices provided. The spacious bedroom has a king size bed with percale linen and bed warmers to keep you toasty in winter. The full bathroom has a bath and large shower. Cape Dutch Cottage is disabled friendly for our guests with challenges. The farm is surrounded by 1000’s ha of forestry, home to local wildlife, and the 15kms of hiking and cycling trails are accessed directly from your doorstep. Plettenberg Bay is the premier seaside resort in South Africa. Plett boasts a beautiful setting of sea, mountains, and lagoons. Seven blue flag beaches are permanent home to dolphins and seals and in September and October we are also visited by the Southern Right whales and Orcas. The Robberg Nature Reserve is famous for its dramatic hikes, and the Harkerville Forest for its cycle trails. The Plett Country Club has a top-rated golf course and welcomes visitors. Goose Valley golf course is also well rated. The Crags, close to our Estate, has a substantial wine route, several animal sanctuaries, and a collection of artisan shops and restaurants. Not far from the Crags is Natures Valley, with a renowned white beach, huge lagoon, and the spectacular Salt River hike. About an hour’s drive is the Tsitsikamma National Park, with its beautiful walk that ends at a suspension bridge over the Storms River. Tsitsikamma Village offers canopy tours and black water tubing. The highest bungy jump in South Africa is nearby. The town of Knysna is only a 30-minute drive and is well worth a visit. The holiday season from Mid-December to Mid-January is very busy, but luckily Plett weather is good out of season too.
