At the foot of the Magaliesberg Mountain Range lies the charming village of Hartbeespoort, which surrounds the Hartbeespoort Dam - and Khayamanzi Guesthouse is perfectly situated in the heart of Harties! The area is incredibly popular with nature lovers, adventure seekers and city dwellers wanting to get away from the bright city lights, to rest in the peaceful surroundings and take full advantage of all there is to do - offering excellent restaurants, water sports, adrenalin thrills, art galleries, cafes, flea markets, world heritage sites, wildlife sanctuaries, nature reserves and so much more. Hartbeespoort is less than an hour's drive from Johannesburg and Pretoria. Harties has so much to offer and is therefore the most amazing getaway, and Khayamanzi Guesthouse offers the perfect accommodation to suite all your needs!
My absolute favourite place in Harties is - hands down, Chameleon Village. You have to experience this place and its surrounds to actually believe it! Do yourself a favour and search for it online before you arrive to see what they have to offer... Another favourite of mine, is Jasmyn - our local fruit and vegetable market. Ordinarily, you wouldn't expect to see a business such as this listed as a local attraction - but this is truly another place you have to actually experience to believe! With seasonal and locally grown fruits, vegetables and edible plants of all sorts available every day of the week, as well as locally made cheeses, yoghurts, a bakery to die for, as well as an entire section dedicated to imported Dutch yummies... you'll probably land up doing some grocery shopping there on your way home too. And while you're at Jasmyn - pop in at The Windmill conveniently situated right next door. Waffles... that's all I'm going to say!
Khayamanzi Guesthouse is so well centrally situated, that besides being in comfortable walking distance to braaing facilities at Hartbeespoort Dam (and perfect opportunities for selfies with tame zebra walking around in the background) - there are so many activities in the nearby vicinity, that you will be absolutely spoiled for choice! From game interaction and viewing (both day and night), adrenalin thrills of all sorts, absolutely unique shopping experiences, fantastic restaurants, the usual, expected retail outlets at local malls, galleries, arts & crafts to utterly inspire you (you'll love our local weekend markets!), coffee shops, craft breweries, hiking trails (the Magalieberg Mountain is well known for picking up chunks of quartz crystals along the way) , horse riding, hot air ballooning, golf, world heritage sites (the world-renowned Cradle of Mankind being one of them) and of course... various awesome water activities! The world is your oyster in Hartbeespoort (or affectionately known as Harties), and boredom is seriously not an option!
