King Protea is a fully contained self catering ground floor studio apartment with a unique rustic homely atmosphere, interestingly decorated, and paying homage to the king of the local "fynbos" flora. We are PET FRIENDLY with 70 square meter walled garden area safe for pets. There is an upper level sea view/sundowner deck available to guests with shaded seating and barbeque facilities, which include firewood and firelighters. Secure "off the street" parking behind locked gates. Own separate entrance, private little garden with a lovely paved patio with garden table and chairs, large umbrella, and your own braai (barbeque) facility, with firewood and firelighters supplied. Fullly fitted kitchen section - 2-plate stove with small oven, as well as 2 plate gas burner stove in case of load shedding. Fridge with separate freezer compartment. Microwave oven, toaster, coffee plunger, kettle and all kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery. Coffee, tea, sugar , milk and rusks are supplied. The lounge section - Dining table with chairs, two lounge chairs and ottoman. The bedroom section - King size extra length double bed with very comfortable pillowtop. Lovely pillows, linen and quilt (summer)/ duvet (winter). 3-speed ceiling fan and additional fan (convection heater supplied in winter). The bathroom - Toilet, basin and shower, and towels and shampoo/ shower gel are supplied. (beach towels too!)

Daan is retired and Elize runs an office from home. This ensures that your hosts are readily available for all your needs and requirements, to ensure a fantastic relaxing holiday! However we value your privacy and our setup is such that your personal space is not intruded upon. Both of them have been involved in client care related businesses for many years, and will take great personal care of you!

The King Protea Self Catering Flat is situated in a quiet street in the quaint little seaside village of Dana Bay, a suburb just west of Mossel Bay, in the Southern Cape (Western Cape province) and is easily accessed from the N2 highway halfway between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. Dana Bay has a gas station with a 24hr cafe, small supermarket, butcheries, pubs/restaurants, fish & chips shop, liquor store, doctor, dentist and chemist. There is access to two lovely, quiet beaches within 2-2.5 km from the apartment with great shore fishing spots, and the Pinnacle Point Casino and Golf Club is within close proximity. Mossel Bay, less than 10kms away, has several great restaurants and beaches, as well as interesting museums and various tourist attractions. The town has just recently acquired its very own zip line, the longest "over ocean" zip line in the world, which is operated close to the Mossel Bay lighthouse, down to sea level at the "Poort".
