Middelfontein Farm is 1.3km outside of town on the Calvinia Road. Lovely walking trails as well as mountain bike trails to enjoy. We have ribbucks, meerkatte, porcupines and even an aardvark called Jughead on the farm. Fontein & Fonteintjie have electricity. These two cottages have wall panels, electrical blankets and TV's. Saffraan cottage is a beautiful stone cottage that works with gas appliances and solar system.(so please note no TV/Wifi) There is a fridge, microwave, toaster, fan, 2 plate gas hob, gas geyser and also electrical blanket for winter) Saffraan is a unique experience for the romantic at heart and people who enjoy making fire! All three cottages are geared for self catering. Breakfast not included in your rate - there are 4 restaurants in town to make breakfast, lunch & dinner reservations. Middelfontein Farm was my grandfather's farm that we bought back in 2010! I moved to Sutherland in December 2012. My parents are Jurg & Rita Wagener (who started Kambro Kind in 2001) They now stay at Sterland where my father still does his private stargazing shows.

From the farm, it is a 2 minute drive to get into town. There are 4 restaurants in town. Also 3 convenience stores, 2 bottles stores and 2 x petrol stations. The Observatory is 15km outside of town on the Fraserburg Road. Jurg's stargazing is 1km outside of town on the Matjiesfontein Road (R354).
