Current owner, Carlos Araujo, was born in Portugal and arrived in South Africa with his family 50 years ago. He embraced the South African culture and considers this his only home, even though he still loves traditional Portuguese cuisine with plenty of chillies. Carlos spent most of his life searching for diamonds. This took him on many adventurous journeys through the African bush and desert, to foreign countries and far away cities, but the urge to return home always remained with him. During his diamond mining career, he decided that farming offered a relaxed and laid-back lifestyle, so he decided to settle down in the beautiful Cape. After a long and exhaustive search for that one very special place, he fell in love with Orange Grove Farm the first time he laid eyes on it. Under his leadership, the farm has undergone a complete transformation. It started with the upgrading of the existing vines, and the planting of additional vineyards and olive groves. Then followed the careful and loving restoration and renovation of existing buildings, and upgrading of all the farms roads.

Welcome to Orange Grove Farm, a working wine and olive farm situated in the heart of Robertson's Valley of Wine and Roses. The farm is less than two hours from Cape Town and is the ideal place to relax and rejuvenate. Our luxurious self-catering cottages are named after the areas where the owner mined diamonds, and each has a unique story to tell. They combine comfort and beauty, offering a setting in which to linger and relax. Each cottage can be serviced daily by our friendly staff, leaving you only to concentrate on unwinding and enjoying the magnificence of your surroundings. Your private veranda and swimming pool provide a relaxing vantage-point to take in spectacular mountain views, the overwhelming sound of silence, and the truly prolific birdlife. At night the crystal-clear sky, and no artificial lights, will spectacularly display the breath-taking canopy of our southern stars.
