Take a step back in time and holiday in one of the authentic old and original Arniston houses, the "Klip Huis". This home has been a well-loved family holiday home for over 140 years, yet with modern amenities it's fit for the 21st-century without losing its 19th-century charm. This is a genuine holiday home, incorporating large spaces, for easy living and comfort. It still has many original 1900s features - white-washed stone walls and interesting small doors. Its eclectic assortment of mismatched yet comfortable furniture will give you an authentic much-loved family holiday experience. The space consists of a main house as well as a flatlet. As you open the front door you will enter the stoep lounge. It was originally the outside stoep, now enclosed, with an adjoining bedroom and flowing into an open-plan lounge and dining room. The inside fireplace is great for those colder evenings, playing games, puzzles or quietly reading when you can't sit around the braai. An additional 2 bedrooms lead off this lounge. The main house has a family bathroom with toilet, shower and bath. The kitchen has hardly changed since it was built, besides modern conveniences. You can still see the original open-fire stove for cooking, now incorporating the stove. This kitchen leads out onto a large enclosed child and pet-friendly back garden. It has built-in braai facilities and seating to pass away many happy evenings together. The house being over 140 years old, retains much of its charm with white-washed limestone walls, old doorways, wooden floors and character-worn red-clay tiles, therefore, it may not be perfect, but its thick stone walls, tell many stories and will soon make you feel at home. The outside flat, leading onto the braai area consists of a large family room, a bedroom and an en-suite bathroom. There are many games, puzzles, and books for entertainment if the weather is not great or you need time out from the beach. Wifi is available, if you really need it.
