Henry & Judy Scott have lived on their permaculture farm for more than 12 years. They built their cob homestead and the entire farm is completely off grid, making use of solar and gas for energy and the harvested rain water. They love all things organic and produce limited batches of organic cold pressed, extra virgin Olive Oil.

Take a swim in the dam (at own risk) or go for a walk in the olive orchard or vegetable garden. The Country Cabin is situated on a permaculture farm run by the owners. It offers a perfect blend of tranquillity and nature making it an ideal destination for those seeking relaxation and outdoor adventure in the heart of the Overberg. Although The Country Cabin shares the same space as the farm buildings, it is completely independent. The cabin has tasteful finishings with a well equipped kitchen. Guided MTB trails and hikes in the surrounding areas can be arranged with local guides that issue permits.

Tesselaarsdal is situated 26km from Caledon and 43km from Hermanus. Our diverse village has two restaurants (open Fri-Sun) and two shops for necessities and for the adventure seeker, plenty of MTB & hiking trails. Sit back and admire the prolific bird life, hear the Blue Crane calls and at night the stars light up the sky.
