Tide and Timber is a boutique guesthouse designed for comfort, calm, and connection — set beneath the mountains with striking architecture, curated interiors, and thoughtful details throughout. Guests enjoy two serene deluxe rooms with luxurious bedding and private ensuites bathrooms. The rooms open onto the sunlight courtyard. Guests have access to the entire lower level of the home, including two beautifully curated lounges, both with fireplaces, as well as a charming sun-drenched courtyard for outdoor dining and a stylish indoor breakfast area. Each morning begins with a beautifully prepared breakfast made with care, featuring local produce and homemade touches, served in the entertainment space, overlooking the mountain landscape. Retreat to the rooftop pool, where panoramic sea and mountain views create the perfect backdrop for relaxation. Pool hours are 09:00 to 18:30. Ideally located in Rocklands Street, you’re just 5 minute from the famous 11km long Cliff Paths, all along the sea. The Old Harbour, and the town’s boutique shops, cafés, and galleries. For nature lovers, the area offers world-renowned whale watching (in season), Fernkloof Nature Reserve hiking trails, and nearby Blue Flag beaches. Wine lovers will enjoy easy access to the Hemel-en-Aarde Wine Valley, home to some of South Africa’s top wineries. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the house, and each room includes secure indoor parking for one vehicle. Each morning, I prepare a lovingly crafted breakfast often featuring homemade rusks, fresh marmalade, and a changing selection of sweet and savory treats — from fluffy eggs infused with garden herbs to vibrant fresh fruit platters and indulgent pastries, breakfast at Tide and Timber is a highlight in itself. Together with my wonderful assistant Sellah, I’ll be here to welcome you, share local recommendations, and ensure your stay is seamless, relaxing, and unforgettable — whether you’re here to explore the mountains, unwind by the rooftop pool, or simply enjoy a beautiful breakfast with a view.
