Whales, waves and wonderful walks along the coast or into the fynbos from the front door. Homely and comfortable for those wanting to explore or relax on the Walker Bay Whale Coast. For those wanting to see the Great White Shark at close range a rare opportunity to go shark cage diving.
I fell in love with De Kelders in 1989 for its wildlife, fynbos and all the rich cultural heritage that the area has to offer. Let me share the many things that you can do either on the doorstep or a short drive away. I can recommend places to eat, places to go and things to do!
This is great place to relax and unwind with the sound of the sea. There is also lots to do, with wonderful walks, both along the coast and more inland, horse-riding and activities for the more adventurous. De Kelders is one of the best places in the world where you can watch Southern Right Whales at close range from the shore, or take a boat trip to experience Great White Shark cage diving. More shore-based activities include wine-tasting at a range of quality vineyards, where you can also linger over long lunches. For plant lovers, the Western Cape floral kingdom is the smallest of these in the world but with the largest number of species! There are a great range of restaurants and places to have breakfast nearby - just ask! There is no public transport or Taxi services in the area. You can park in my driveway - no problem
