Owner/hosts are wonderful: Nicol (Haruka) is lovely, quiet, kind & very helpful, & speaks good English -- very much appreciated as we only know about 20 words of Japanese. Her husband (Mamoru) is a terrific cook! The breakfasts are superlative, differently delicious every day & beautifully presented. Post-COVID they no longer serve dinner as they opened a small bakery during COVID. The interior of this tiny hotel is very simply furnished, light, very clean, a calm-feeling space and QUIET. It is on a very narrow, quiet street but well located in central Kyoto close to bus & train routes. We had the last 3 of our 10 nights in Kyoto here & wished that we could have been here for all 10 nights!

We got caught in a typhoon in Kyoto and the day we were meant to leave all our trains were cancelled to Osaka! The hotel staff were so kind and understanding and allowed us to book an extra night and stay in the same room. On top of this the hotel was absolutely lovely and it was very useful to have laundry facilities available. The beds were nice and soft and a decent sized room, and the hotel was in a really good position to walk to temples and Gion.

Our six night stay here was really great. We've had everything we needed, cooking equipment, a fridge, A/C, a washing machine/dryer, plates, bowls, chopsticks, everything. And it was so clean! I really don't mind the late check-in at 4pm if the rooms are so thoroughly cleaned like that. The room wasn't really big, but we've had enough space for 3 suitcases and a backpack and it didn't feel too cramped, so we wouldn't ask for more. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They also spoke English very well, which isn't something I'd expect, so that was great as well. Overall this was way beyond our expectations for it's value-for-money ratio. It was a wonderful stay.

Beautiful, peaceful stay at Hazuki Kyoto. The mix of traditional design and modern comfort was perfect. Staff were kind and welcoming, and the location was quiet but still convenient for exploring the city. Highly recommended!

Really beautiful room with a huge bed and lovely sliding doors in the huge windows that make the interior really pretty. The shower was really powerful and they provide large fluffy towels. They have a mini fridge for any small items and there’s combini a minute away. You can easily take the bus but a nearby bus stops and it’s conveniently located next to lots of tourist spots. The gentleman on reception was incredibly helpful, responded to our requests quickly and went out of his way to provide great customer service. Spoke great English so communication was no issue, if you have a question I suggest contacting him through booking.com message feature.
