The Ecohotel Yachay Tayrona is located within the Tayrona National Natural Park 33 km from Santa Marta, offers a terrace and mountain views with a direct encounter with the nature. Everything was excellent. We are very pleased with our stay.

Offering views of the Sierra, Mundo Nuevo ECO LODGE (2.2 km and 400 meters uphill Minca) is set in an organic farm with a vegetarian restaurant (one menu) with mainly dishes with fruits and vegetable... One of the nicest places I’ve ever been never mind stayed at. Hard to encapsulate it in words, but it’s the epitome of tranquillity of zen. Worth the money to go and experience the intimate nature of such an ancient rainforest from above and below. I’m not a veggie, but all meals made were incredible and it made me try loads of new flavours and things from the area.

With macaws flying over head, howler monkeys calling in the morning, capuchin monkeys flying through the trees and a sleeping sloth over the path await you but you have to earn it! A not to be missed highlight is the early morning hike to the Mirador- it's stunning! The trail to get here can be demanding but Sebastian or Jose will help you and it will be worth your effort.

The hard work, skills and dedication that go into bringing that kind of comfort into this quiet remote location cannot be overstated. The rooms are simple but very well constructed and I slept like a baby. Even though the first night we were subjected to quite a strong storm hitting the coast. The hearty and diligent service they provide from the delicious meals to logistical help and anything one might need is beyond words. Truly a pearl in this most beautiful part of the world. Beautiful private room with forest and river view. We especially enjoyed the yummy breakfast out on the balcony, while watching the hummingbirds each morning.

(I was surprised as other comments mentioned that there is not). The staff was very nice. We got great suggestions for what to do. The breakfast is good, a nice portion of fruits, eggs (with many options, toast bread and butter. Honey and Marmelade are occasionally also possible. They sell local honey which was very tasty.
