Lovely room with an amazing view. Inge was an exceptional host and couldn’t do enough for us. She went out of her way to ensure we had a great stay and even offered to give us lifts to and from the town. She also gave us great advice on things to do in Rotorua and on our onward travels.

Just 2 minutes’ walk from Lake Taupo, Acapulco Motor Inn offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen satellite TV and a DVD player. We had a 2 bedroom hotel room. The beds were comfortable, breakfast was included. The hotel is in a nice location near the lake, free parking.

Each room has a shower and toilet which is something I need for two young children. Tv with a freeview box I'd recommend bringing your own Chromecast or Amazon stick for movies if you're staying for a couple of days or more. This motel is my go-to for affordable accommodation in waiouru it has everything we need as a family it has a laundromat (cash only) next door down the long driveway, across the road from the takeaways which is handy, subway on the right and Z gas station on the left which is 24hours. Cherie is a wonderful host and we always love staying at the roadside motel.

Set in Thames, Sunset Motel features barbecue facilities and a garden. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. The location was fantastic and the facilities of the accommodation was ticking all the boxes

Located in central Matamata, 20 minutes' drive from the Hobbiton movie set, Horse and Jockey Inn offers 50 MB of free Wi-Fi. Location was excellent in walking distance of every thing e.g shops cafe's and other bars, plus the RSA where our EME reunion was held
