The hotel is completely renovated, location is great. Breakfast is amazing, as well as spa and gym with a view on slopes. Only pool area need some refreshment. I also loved service upon arrival, concierge took care of car, skis and our laguage.

A Fantastic Family Ski Holiday at Places by Obertauern! Our recent stay at Places by Obertauern was nothing short of wonderful. This hotel truly caters to all ages and preferences, making it the perfect choice for a family ski holiday. Our son was thrilled with the games room and the PS5s, while our daughter loved relaxing in the cinema with its nightly movie screenings. The top-floor games room, conveniently located next to the rooftop bar, was a hit with the whole family. The DJ on some evenings added a special touch, creating a vibrant and enjoyable atmosphere. We also loved sitting outside the rooftop bar under the patio heaters, watching the piste bashers prepare the slopes for the next day – a truly unique experience! The buffet offered a fantastic selection of delicious food, catering to all tastes. A special shout-out must go to Martha in the restaurant. Her hard work and dedication to ensuring our comfort made our stay extra special. We were also incredibly impressed with her extensive wine knowledge and excellent recommendations. She truly elevated our dining experience. The location of Places by Obertauern is ideal for skiing. The slope just a 5-minute walk away provided easy access to the nearest lift after a short ski down. While this particular lift might not be ideal for complete beginners, it suited our family perfectly. Nadia in the ski section was incredibly helpful and made booking lessons a breeze. The hotel reception staff were also excellent. They efficiently handled our lift pass purchases and were incredibly accommodating when we requested a last-minute late checkout. They understood our desire to take advantage of the perfect snow conditions for a final two hours on the slopes before our flight and even arranged our additional lift passes. Their flexibility was much appreciated. Finally, the ski hire shop on the ground floor was incredibly convenient.

The host was very friendly, easy and quick to comunicate ! The option of spa was really great, the view from the room was amazing and we felt like in the winter fairytale. I was staying at this hotel for two nights with my husband in July 2024. We got a free room upgrade at the check-in. The attic apartment that we got was amazing – spacious, with a sofa, big modern bathroom with mood lightning in the shower and the biggest highlight – two balconies – one of them with a front view and the other one oriented to a calm meadow belonging to the hotel. The staff was great, too. Everyone from the reception to the restaurant personnel was very nice. They always greet you when you run into each other anywhere in the hotel, have a small talk on how was your day or whether you need any advice on what to do and see in the surroundings. Yet, they were not intrusive in any way. The service they provided met the high standards – the room was cleaned while we were having breakfast, they served the meals at the restaurant smoothly without us having to wait, etc. We took the half-board for our stay. The breakfast was served in a buffet style with wide variety of pastries, cereals, fruits and some mashed/boiled eggs and sausages. Dinner was a four-course a-la-carte menu and you can pre-order the main dish in the morning. We very much loved the style in which the restaurant and the entire hotel were decorated – an elegant alpine chalet with many wooden details and lovely furnishing. In general, we loved our stay here, and would definitely some back.

    Breakfast & dinner buffets good but not brilliant. Both were very "samey" which meant by day 4 you were itching for something new. Honestly - just a bit dull food wise. The hotel itself was very well decorated and kept very clean indeed. Excellent pool, spa & games room facilities. Both bars were relaxing.
