We loved our stay at Mikado Lodge! It is an incredible property in the middle of the jungle. The room and deck were lovely as you feel like you are in the tree canopy with the sounds of howler monkeys, cicadas, and views of deer and so many species of birds. Bring your binoculars! We enjoyed the pool time, the little trail on site, and the troup of monkeys that came swinging through the trees through in the morning. Aside from the beauty of the nature, everything is just so polished and well-taken care of. It is clear that a lot of thought and time has gone into the design and care of this boutique hotel. The owner, Lolo, was a gracious and accommodating host. She whipped up some delicious meals and was so sweet with our one year old. Playa Avellana is close by so you can go from jungle to beach in about 15 minutes! We would definitely stay there again.

I loved my stay at Silvestre Hotel. The location is perfect - it’s right next to Guiones beach. Top highlights for us included spending time on the beautiful private rooftop pool, drinks at the rooftop bar and lounge (the Mezcalita and Margarita were exceptional) and the amazing yoga class in the fitness studio of the hotel. The concierge team arranged an amazing nature tour with knowledgeable guide Donovan through the jungle to the Mala Noche waterfall where we were able to swim. It was a really nice touch to have the complimentary breakfast included on the rooftop. For an Italian like me coffee is close to my heart, I had one of the best capuccinos I have ever had. The barista is an artist and created a beautiful seahorse on top!

Beautiful, quiet, great facilities and the kitchenette had everything I needed. The bed was really comfy and being able to get Netflix was a great bonus as a solo traveller. The ice bath was AMAZING and the pool was stunning!! The hosts were so nice, had a great variety of classes in the yoga shala (additional cost) a few food places that deliver (take cash if you don’t have a car like me) a shop within walking distance which stocked most things you would need, walking distance to the beach and driving distance to some great towns, beaches and restaurants. I felt really safe, comfortable and at home here. It was a wonderful stay and a lucky find!
