The hotel is very modern with large spaces and cozy decorations. It's very close to the city center (15 minutes walk). The staff were super kind and helpful. The temperature in the room was easily adjustable (finally a nordic country where I don't freeze to death in my sleep). Breakfast was good. We were allowed to use their lockers after checking out - this allowed us to go to the city one more time (without worrying about our luggage) before going to the airport.

Situated next to Iceland’s Ring Road, Laxarbakki offers apartments with free WiFi access and a furnished terrace with views of River Laxá. Akranes town centre is 12 km away.

We wanted something a little more remote to have a chance of seeing the Northern Lights and also beautiful scenery. This hotel/cottage covered both. The cottage was absolutely perfect, no matter what window you looked out it had perfect views. Was warm and comfortable and had everything in it we needed. The cottage was self catering however we went over to the bar/restaurant a few nights for some food and drinks.

We booked for 1 night and ended staying a week because of the lovely staff, great service and comfortable room. The teams went above and beyond and they made me a lifetime customer. The location was super! In a quiet area with enough place to park the car in front of the appartment. There is an easy access to the highway and a 24-hour shop and the city center is just a 10-15 minutes drive. The hosts of the appartment are really nice. Everything we needed was there: kitchen, a decent bathroom and enough space for the two of us. But the most breathtaking was the view on Aurora, The Northern Lights. Although you stay in the city it is possible to see the Northern Lights from the balcony. We even could see it sitting on the bed staring out of the bedroom window! How romantic!

Beautiful place with a stunning view of Reykjavik. A hot tub with thermal water feels amazing especially when the weather is cold. Huge comfy beds and lovely kitchen/ dining room/living room. Loved the sauna. The host was very kind and showed us around when we checked in. He was also available for any questions we had about the property. The place is huge and has lots of shelves and wardrobes to store your clothes and luggage. It's a short drive to the city centre and the grocery stores (around 10-15 minutes)

This hotel has it all! The staff were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to answer any questions about what to do and where to go. Need a taxi? They’ll have one ready for you in about a minute—so convenient! The restaurant was fantastic, offering delicious food. We had breakfast there daily, and it was the perfect way to start each day. Their coffee was excellent too—I loved it! This is also an ideal spot if you’re doing tours. Bus Stop 13 is right in front of the hotel, making it super convenient for tour bus pickups. On cold days, you can comfortably wait in the cozy lobby until your ride arrives—a small detail that makes a big difference. Our room was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!
