The view. The view is as picture perfect as you would believe (assuming you can get a clear day!), and even as we stayed in the second row of maisonettes (farther away from Mt Fuji) we still has a gorgeous view from the upstairs windows. The maisonette itself was gorgeous, fully stocked for longer stays and my only regret was we only stayed a single night due to trip scheduling, but the property plus Hiroyuki our host and the other staff were wonderful. We arranged to be picked up from and dropped off at Kawaguchiko station which is only a short 10-15 minute drive away from the property, thanks to Hiroyuki. We were also able to check in a few hours early by chance again thanks to the hospitality of our hosts. The north shore of Lake Kawaguchi is a little sparse compared to the main town on the south shore, but there's still plenty of attractions to go see (always double check their opening days!) and the property (plus others nearby) have bicycle rentals of various kinds so a healthy cycle over the bridge to the south shore opens up more to explore. There's two convenience stores a 10 minute walk from the property, and a similar distance to the lakeshore itself for some other stunning photo opportunities.

Fabulous location, with a view of Mount Fuji from my room and my own private onsen bath! Lovely room with evrything I needed, and the two gentlemen running the hotel made my stay very special. I got off the bus at the wrong spot, to find they'd already messaged to offer to pick me up. In spite of it taking some time for them to find me, they offered to stop at the local shop so I could buy food (It was late at night). They went to great lengths to make a vegetarian breakfast for me, and took me to the bus station when I left. I had an absolutely wonderful relaxing time!
