Great staff. They made sure to have someone on hand who had lived in the US and spoke perfect English, and had translated the menu for our group of mixed Japanese language ability. Comfortable rooms and great baths.

My boyfriend and I spent a day and a night here. Lovely rooms and onsens, one male, one female and one private one under the open sky. The couple who runs the hotel couldn’t be any nicer.

Amazing property with even more amazing staff. We stayed for two night during our honeymoon and couldn’t be happier with the experience. It was an authentic yet luxurious Ryokan. Our room was beautifully decorated, spotless and it even had its own onsen. The food was exceptional and the staff was very well trained and extremely friendly. Highly recommended this hotel and would love to go back on day.

The service at this property was amazing. Not only were they very friendly but they also went above and beyond in many instances where we had trouble due to heavy snow. Definitely would recommend to anyone staying in Shiga Kogen and wanting to relax.

Incredible service and incredible overall experience. It's like staying in a fancy cabin in the snow. The lounge area with the giant fireplace is awesome, very nice food, very spacious rooms and first class facilities such as the onsens and indoor swimming pool. The decor could be interpreted as dated (as other reviews have stated) but we felt this simply adds to the warmth and cosiness of the establishment. The service here is seriously next level and it is fantastic value for money.

Everything!!! Incredible location, steps from the slopes, very comfortable room, great WiFi, rental on site - great people and equipment from Snowcan rentals - very good baths! A few meters from the bus stop. And the food is just out of this world ; and the chef is so good and such a kind person!!! Great breakfast and just amazing dinner!!! You have to go halfboard!! But the best is the people, all the staff is so kind and helpful, and the manager is the most friendly person ever!!! I had the best birthday ever staying at this hotel !! We have to come back !
