If you're looking for a place that feels like a warm hug and a spa day all wrapped up into one, Faraway in Laos is where you want to be. Seriously — this place is a hidden gem that deserves a standing ovation. 👏 First off, the staff is absolutely incredible. Friendly, helpful, and genuinely happy to have you there — it's like staying with friends who actually want you around (and not just because you brought snacks). They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect during my stay. The cleanliness? Immaculate. I mean, I’ve seen operating rooms that could take notes. Every corner of the room was spotless, fresh, and smelled like a mix of sunshine and good decisions. Beds were crisp, bathrooms were pristine, and not a dust bunny dared to show its face. The vibe at Faraway is relaxed but with just the right amount of attention to detail that makes you feel taken care of without being smothered. It's the sweet spot between laid-back backpacker cool and boutique hotel polish. Bottom line: If you're heading to Laos and don't stay here, you're missing out. Treat yourself — you deserve it.

Perfect located on the river side far from the noise, nice and quite. Rooms are beautiful and very original, made out of old containers. We liked the idea very much. A bit hot during the day but, having AC, it cools down quickly. At night perfect temperature without the need for AC. Everything very clean both in the room and the whole structure. Good breakfast. Pool clean and well maintained like the whole resort. Good WiFi both in the room and in common areas. Great staff. Everybody is very kind and friendly, from the manager to his assistant and his wife. They helped by providing us with a solution to a logistical issue that was difficult for us not speaking the language. Excellent value for money. In a nutshell I can only recommend Kong resort and if I were to return to Vang Vieng it would be my choice again.

The location that is most beautiful and significant of mountain. I like Namsong river and I could smell the clean air and smile people surrounding.
