The staff, the food, the property....all invite you to relax. The view of the lake in the morning....calm, peace... So it was really a place to come out of your mind and into your senses....excellent food....I didn't know that one can cook with such variety vegetarian food...and above all it tasted sooo good. Boat trip through the Mangrove forest...some sightseeing....sunsets...a Crocodile did some sunbathing on the rocks....don't worry it was far away....the staff always give you a hand...Roy the magician, Insaf and his father Ilyas. As I asked for a room with river view they gave me a room in the villa without extra pay. Once in awhile I had a head, neck shoulder massage...couldn't get enough of it... So all in all a very relaxed and pleasant experience....No wonder I stayed for two weeks...

Great family run business. Lovely atmosphere by the river, excellent food (you can get lunch and dinner and order from a menu). Staff takes you to the other side of the river to a beautiful beach anytime you want. The rooms have a stunning river view, are clean and shower with good pressure and hot water. You can book tours and water sport equipment. We felt very welcome and would definitely go there again.

Me and my family had an truest unforgettable time at this hotel. It is overlooking Bentota river, the views are beautiful. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, with a peaceful atmosphere. We really liked spotting the water monitors – who make the occasional appearance. All members of staff were friendly, helpful, and always eager to make our stay special, we felt so comfortable and were sad to leave. The food was delicious, we were spoilt with so many delicious foods. This hotel was the ideal place to experience Sri Lanka. We left feeling refreshed and full of great memories. We would love to return one day, and will be recommending to all our friends and family. Also discuss any trips you would like to go on as the hotel can organise this for you, we did and enjoyed them. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so special.

I'm an expat living in Sri Lanka for 2 years. Been to a dozen of hotels around the island and so far this one of my favorite places. It's a nice small hotel/guesthouse for like 10 rooms. The garden and scenery inside is absolutely marvellous! They have a pool and unlike most of the enormous hotel pools with water temperature +30C in SL, it's small and really refreshing! The staff is really pleasant and helpfull (special cheers to Achala :). There was a construction works going in the neighborhood, and they moved me to the better room in another block far away from the noise for free. All the minor problems with the equipment have been dealt immediately. Very pleasant people and atmosphere where I felt like home. The location is also very nice - it's 1.5 hour ride from Colombo and you can just go there for a weekend. I came for 3 days, stayed for 2 weeks. WiFi is pretty good. It's also 3 minute walk from northern Moragalla beach which has a distant underwater reef that protects from waves and high tide even at the worst weather and during off season. Breakfast is good as well as dinner a-la-carte. This is not a luxury place but really cozy and totally worth the price. Will come back there again for sure
