What a great stay! It was the most nice and welcoming staff, always very attentive. The rooms are clean and nice. Very comfortable! Super close to Rekawa beach where we saw turtles. Highly recommend this place.

Most of all we had a great time due to the owners, Randima and Lakmini, they are so accommodating and friendly and really made the whole experience of staying in their home such wonderful one. They are both interesting people who are easy to talk with and gave us an insight into Sri Lankan life, politics, food, fauna and so much more! They told us of local events and parades happening, helped with logistics, and assisted us on so many occasions; they truly went above & beyond. Secondly the balcony is superb - it exceeded our expectations and although the lake is small it is brimming with wildlife and you get a great view of it all from the balcony (which is right outside the room). This was like a wildlife safari all in itself! If you’re into bird spotting, this place is a must 🦜 The room was truly huge, clean, spacious, the bed comfy. It is near enough to the main road for easy access but not noisy at all and you and can’t see the main road, while the walk up the track to the house in the dark is lit by fireflies. There are several shops and a good restaurant on the road, and the bus stop is very close for getting to the nearby towns, villages and beach stops.

We had an amazing stay at Moonrise Villa! This property is truly exceptional, offering complete privacy with a private pool, a cozy television lounge, and a beautifully maintained lobby area. The villa is new, well-maintained, and spotlessly clean, especially the bathrooms, which is always a big plus. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, providing excellent customer service throughout our stay. The food was delicious, and the highlight of our trip was the turtle-watching tour they arranged for us at night – a magical and unforgettable experience! This Villa was the perfect place after exploring Ella, Kandy and Sigiriya. Perfect place to start slowing down! The Team was super kind and gave us a lot of tips for dinner and which places to visit in Tangalle. Sure, we travelled during the low season but everything was offered, even more. If I ever visit Sri Lanka again, this is a place I’ll definitely visit again.

Pros : Amazing host.. Mr. Ranjith's hospitality is top notch.. so affectionate & carrying host. On the day of arrival he greeted us with sweet tender coconut. The next morning he warmed us with his homemade coconut pancake. The day we departed he treated us with ragi malt with dry fruits. Each day he greeted us with special dishes. He also arranged a scooty for us at an affordable price. He did all the facilities for us. The room was clean and comfortable. The toilet is big & spacious. Good room with an affordable price. Must recommend in Tangalle, away from the busy city. At the walkable distance one can reach a private turtle beach. Luckily we saw a big turtle on shore.. as a couple we enjoyed the stay..
