One of the best stays of our entire trip! Everything was excellent — from the warm welcome to the smallest details. The room was the most spacious and comfortable we experienced, with the comfiest bed of our whole holiday. Everything was spotlessly clean, including the lovely pool, which was perfect for relaxing. The surroundings are absolutely stunning — you really feel immersed in the lush beauty of nature, and yet you’re just a short drive from Unawatuna. It’s the perfect balance of peace and convenience. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the kindness and generosity of the hosts. Every morning, an amazing breakfast was prepared right in front of us, full of fresh, delicious ingredients. You can really feel the care they put into everything. We would come back in a heartbeat — highly recommended!

I loved everything about this place. The location is tucked away—about a 10–15 minute scooter ride from Unawatuna centre—but that’s exactly what makes it special. It sits quietly among rice fields and jungle, surrounded by locals, peaceful and beautifully removed from the coastal buzz. Sri Yoga Shala is just a five-minute walk away, which for me was a huge plus. This is definitely a place where having your own transport matters. Relying on tuk-tuks all the time would get annoying (and expensive), but with a scooter, it’s perfect. The host arranged one for me, which gave me complete freedom to explore—Unawatuna, Galle, local restaurants, hidden corners of the area. Absolute game changer. The room was spacious, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. There’s a gorgeous terrace with a kitchen where you can have breakfast overlooking the garden, and on the other side, an outdoor bathroom setup that makes showering feel almost jungle-luxury. Everything was spotless and well equipped—honestly one of the most “spoiled” accommodations I stayed in while in Sri Lanka. Breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared by the hosts every morning, with generous portions. Check-in and check-out were flexible, the hosts were lovely, and the overall atmosphere was calm, relaxed, and grounding. What I loved most was the peace: being tucked between jungle and rice fields, away from the noise, yet still close enough to everything if you want it. If I ever return to the area, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Absolutely recommended.

Villa Ishq is a wonderfully luxurious villa set on a beachfront location in Talpe on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. The 5 bedroom suites are very well appointed and the bathrooms are huge and beautifully designed. What sets Villa Ishq above others is the staff. Led by the villa manager Nimal the staff are both many in number and super attentive. The cuisine is superb with all the local curries cooked fresh every day. We could order almost anything which was sourced locally and cooked to perfection. We had a most wonderful time! Many thanks for hosting us!
