What a charming little spot! We only spent a night here but I would gladly go back. We had dinner in the restaurant but the self catering facilities were really nice, and our twin room was very cute and comfortable. We used their track transport service for the Caples-Greenstone track and it could not have been smoother and more convenient….our little rental car would have definitely not enjoyed a couple of the fords on the way.

Amazing, isolated location. Appreciate how they cater to all price points - I was in a dorm, but still delightful. Bathrooms were great, warm showers with soap. Kitchen was under renovations but I’m sure it’ll be great too and they have a few picnics tables that would be fantastic in the summer. Tons of amazing hikes near by. Hot tub was out of this world nice. No better place to stay if you want to do some big hikes but not camp

Beautiful location We stayed in a Queen Room in the Heritage Lodge: the bed was extremely comfortable and other facilities including the shared bathroom and guest lounge area were of a high standard Excellent restaurant Accommodating hosts who are passionate about their business, thanks Toni, John and team

Amazing locations, great hot tubs with lake view, comfortable beds, lovely lounge and café! They also rent bikes. The only “negative” points: no rental of kayaks, just guided tours, and not available when we were there, breakfast is quite pricy, there is a long gravel road to get there, so it depends what vehicle you’re driving. But overall excellent stay, I would definitely come back!

Most comfortable bed in NZ. Quiet & peaceful. We got lucky as no one else was staying so we had the whole place to ourselves and got to utilise the spa and communal lounge.

Incredible location making the most of the magnificent views. The rooms we stayed in were newly refurbished and excellently appointed. The shared bathrooms were spotless. The hosts were brilliant, warm, welcoming, engaging and amazing cooks. The set menu we had was delicious before relaxing on the verandah with a glass of wine. We will definitely be staying here again!
