Our time at The Vagar Countryhouse was a trip highlight during a three-week trek around the entirety of Portugal. It is a stunning property with amazing bedding, delicious food, and a central location for touring local castles. Marta was an exceptional host. I can't say enough good things about our experience. The breakfasts were incredible.We enjoyed their salad and charcuterie board offerings one evening for dinner. Don't look any further if you seek a spot to feel pampered and welcome, out of the hustle and bustle of the coastal cities. Plus, leafing through several Architectural Digest magazines on display in the motherhouse and seeing our room featured was fun. Make sure to visit the castles of Sortelha and Monsanto.

This is our third stay, we love it here. It is very calm, good for walking, and a fantastic restaurant next door with home made Portuguese food. Very welcoming.

We were met by the host on arrival, who was mowing the lawn. Very tranquil location and it was clear not many UK tourists visit Miuzela and the surroundings. Make sure you stock up with cooking/ eating supplies if you arrive at the wekend as not many places are open to shop or eat. Lovely house with excellent garden and pool. Lot's of medieval castles to see within 45 minutes drive along deserted roads. El Contro (bar opposite house0 was very kind to sell us milk and water and a few beers with the locals. If you dont speak Portuguese brush up on your Spanish and French as English is not used much in these parts.Parking is on site and simple.

A hidden gem - tastefully renovated old country house with a nice spa. Very helpful and friendly hosts - I felt warmly welcome from the first moment. And to my positive surprise, there was even an electric car charging station on site.

The mountain shelters offer fantastic views. Perfect if you seek peace and quiet and a connection to nature. Loved the nordic inspired look and feel mixed with local Portuguese details. Fabulous breakfast at the main house and/or delivered to your shelter. The service provided by Marta and Team was fantastic. Very romantic for sunrise and sunset lovers and theres’s a jaccuzzi. It's a really nice place with cozy and clean motorhome trailer, also nice place around, table, grill, cool warm lights. There is a river on the yard. Also good grocery shop and pastelaria. Warm welcome from owners family.
