We stayed three nights in January. The Peabody certainly lives up to its billing as ‘the Grand Hotel of the South’ with a luxurious lobby and regal hotel rooms. The service is extraordinary. Honestly, the staff are always smiling and can’t do enough. Each evening they actually knock at your door offering you chocolates, extra toiletries and extra bottled water (all with a duck motif, of course). The duck parade at 11am and 5pm is a must. Don’t wait until the last minute if you want a prime viewing spot though as it crowds up fast. Our room was spacious and the bed was VERY comfy. We especially appreciated the built-in individual reading lights. The hotel offers free coffee and tea downstairs each morning. The location is great, 2 blocks from Beale and across the street from the ballpark. I can’t imagine going to Memphis and staying anywhere else

I was rather impressed at first sight with it being gated with rod iron and security patrolling at all times.. Then the open end lobby with ample sitting and a quint but some what elegant bar off to the side. No check-in desk. No waiting to check in. It's all done on your phone before you arrive. You key is actually a bar code loaded on to your phone. A young lady that evening was so very helpful. She was engaging and filled me on the wonderful Starbucks quality coffee bar availability at all times free of charge. The young gentleman in the morning was so very kind, polite and gracious. The over all look and the rooms were just amazing. I don't know who came up with the whole concept of how things are done but it lends to a whole new experience in hotel stays.

Everything about this place was great. We were passing through Memphis with a sick 18m old. Fever was high so we took her to emergency room. I have three other kids so I got the room for them a place to sleep. Staff was very understanding since I didn't check in till around 3 in the morning, they gave us a couple hrs past check out time to get some rest. We liked it so much we stayed two more nights.
