They were welcoming to dogs, and because of our lack of planning, they graciously allowed us to join a delectable evening meal that was being prepared for other couple who were also guests. Everything was excellent, and we'd recommend to anyone making the drive between the north and the south of France. We wished that we spoke more French to be able to communicate better with the host parents who live on the property and who welcomed us and prepared the meals. That said, our lack of French in no way impeded our ability to coordinate.

The actual building is beautiful. It is ornate with attention to detail on every wall ceiling and floor. The stained glass windows are breath taking. The gardens are well maintained and offered respite from the heat and were the perfect spot to share a bottle of bubbles. Highly recommend booking the spa for a couple of hours for a romantic night.

The breakfast was varied and plentiful. If you are close by, you must book this Chambre d'hote. Montrichard is a fabulous town to explore too.

Also, the host were super friendly and helpful. We could arrange an arrival time and were able to text 30 mins in advance the arrival. Everything was perfectly set up when we arrived.
