The area has such an interesting history and a unique atmosphere — it was something completely different from anything we’ve experienced before in Scotland. The room was special and very well set up. The host responded extremely quickly — faster than at any of our other stops — and everything went very smoothly. We truly enjoyed our stay!

The owner was so friendly, and communication was great. We arrived later than expected, but we were accommodated well. The room was so clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, and the swimming pool was a treat. Could not have asked for more. Highly recommended.

Hamish's Hideaway ligger ca. 29 km fra Carlisle Castle. Her er balkon, kaffemaskine og udsigt til en have. The property and views are absolutely beautiful, the bed is so comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom absolutely spotless. We’ve had the most relaxing and enjoyable weekend away and the hot tub is amazing!!! Highly recommend and will be telling all of my friends to go for a weekend. Will definitely be looking to come back again at some point!

We had an amazing stay at this lodge over Christmas and it exceeded our expectations. The lodge is set in beautiful countryside, it’s modern, very clean and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of utensils and amenities – we managed to cook a full Christmas dinner with no issues at all. We also appreciated the little touches, including the Christmas treats/fresh produce left out for us. The hand washes and lotions smelled amazing as well. One of the highlights was sitting in the hot tub under the stars on a clear night – it felt very private and peaceful. The property is very close to Loch Ken, and we drove to the ruins of Kenmure Castle about ten minutes down the road which was worth a visit. Communication from the host was brilliant from start to finish. I’d recommend this lodge to anyone and would happily return myself.

The place was really fresh and had everything that was needed. The courtesy hamper was a really nice touch and well received We all had a good night sleep as it was very quiet and comfy beds. The Gretna Chase Hotel had a good menu and was staggering distance on the way home We will definitely be back
