The holiday home also provides free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. Everything! The location was perfect for us; the fact that the cabin sits right on a creek bank with wonderful views of the Mourne Mountains was a plus. The beds were comfortable; there was plenty of hot water. The kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, stove and oven allowed us to prepare our own meals. The washer/dryer combo unit allowed us to do laundry. The leather sofa was extra comfy.

Guests can also relax in the garden or in the shared lounge area. Breakfast was excellent. Promptly served. Hot and fulfilling. Kept us going all day. Only needed fruit and water during our day out. We did not use the Hot Tub by our choice. However sitting up there watching the sunset was superb. Sam was very friendly and informative of local attractions.

The property is non-smoking and is set 43 km from Proleek Dolmen. This is a little gem tucked away outside Kilkeel. If you're looking for peace and quiet it's for you. Yet only a few miles to nearest towns if you want to have a meal, a drink, or shop. Kids are well catered for with board games, swings and slide and also swingball. Definitely the best we've stayed in for a mini break here at home in Northern Ireland.

Carrick Cottage - Mourne Mountains offers a hot tub and free private parking, and is within 35 km of Down Cathedral and 37 km of The Cathedral of Saint Patrick and Saint Colman. The property has mountain and garden views. Outdoor seating is also available at the holiday home. Absolutely ideal location, right at the foot of Slieve Binnian/Mourne Wall. The cottage is cosy, with modern facilities, and a log fire. Lovely view over the sea. I was hiking the Mourne Wall, so this could not have been a better place to stay. It's really charming, and plenty of parking.

Kitchenware is also provided, as well as a coffee machine and a kettle. At the guest house, every unit has bed linen and towels. I booked the room last minute, and our experience couldn’t have been better. Darren was very attentive through messages, we received all recommendations and directions to get there. The room was fabulous, exactly as the images and more. The place was recently renovated and is warm and comfortable. I highly recommend and we will definitely be coming back soon, as they are also pet friendly and we could bring our dog with us. :) Thank you Darren and the team for helping our last minute escape to be even special 🐶☺️

This is an absolutely beautiful traditional cottage set within stunning views of the Mourne Mountains. The cooking range in the kitchen was amazing and provided incredible heat throughout our stay. The bedroom with stand alone bath was perfect with an abundance of hot water. The living room with traditional fire and hearth was incredible and it was just so relaxing to sit reading in front of the fireplace. The wood fired hot tub in the garden was amazing, especially with the incredible views of the mountains around us. Andy was an exceptional host and was extremely quick to get back to us on the few occasions we had to contact him and was quick to supply us with additional kiln dried wood after our extensive stay in the hot tub. This is truly an amazing place and I cannot speak highly enough of the magical and relaxing experience. This was a perfect location for us to enjoy three days hiking in the Mournes and we cannot wait to return.
