Opened in June 2018, Hotel 1001 Nott offers modern accommodation 5 km from Egilsstadir. The hotel features outdoor hot tubs overlooking Lake Lagarfljót. There is also an on-site bar. The hotel was really nice with modern and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was also superb. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We had a room with lake view that was really nice. We did a road trip to East end of the Iceland and this was perfect place to stay on the east side.

Featuring a restaurant and cafe on site, Blabjorg Resort is in the fishing village of Borgarfjordur Eystri, 71 km from Egilsstadir. Beautiful private room with a balcony. Staff was super friendly. The adjacent spa is small, but intimate, offering hot pools, cold bath and three different types of saunas. Last but not least, the resort offers food and drinks at their restaurant (including beers from the local brewery). We loved our stay here!

It has everything you need, though it’s a good idea to stop by a store before your visit. The jacuzzi and grill are a great addition. The view is incredible. We also went on a short hike to the Heljarfoss waterfall. Also we were lucky – we saw a small whale twice.

Set along the Seydisfjordur Fjord, these cottages are less than 3 km from the town of Seydisfjorudur. Each offers impressive panoramic views and a large terrace with an outdoor hot tub and BBQ. Very clean, comfy cotttage. With hot tub outside, with a great view.

Laugarfell Accommodation & Hot Springs is located in the Eastern Highlands and is at the border of Vatnajökull National Park.

These holiday homes all offer a private terrace with barbecue facilities, in addition to a well-equipped kitchenette with free coffee and tea. Egilsstadir town centre is a 8-minute drive away. Very homey and well maintained. We had a great time, the place is very cozy and next to nature

Set in a renovated farmhouse, this guest house is located by Lake Lagarfljót in Eglisstadir village. amazing. also the restaurant is very recommended to visit

Hotel Stadarborg is in Breiddalur Valley, next to Road 1 and less than a 1-hour drive from Egilsstadir. The staff were extremely kind and helpful.

There was a common area with all the facilities such as a microwave and kettle that allowed us to prepare a quick meal.
