Guest rooms in the hotel are equipped with a flat-screen TV. Featuring a private bathroom with a shower and free toiletries, rooms at Hótel Jökulsárlón - Glacier Lagoon Hotel also provide guests with free WiFi, while certain rooms will provide you with a mountain view. The units will provide guests with a wardrobe and a coffee machine.

The wellness area at Hótel Jökulsárlón - Glacier Lagoon Hotel is comprised of a sauna and a hot tub.

Languages spoken at the reception include English, Spanish, Icelandic and Polish. This place is brand new and amazing. The hot tubs and sauna that overlook the glacier are definitely the highlight. If you get lucky (like me) you might even get to see the aurora while sipping an excellent cocktail in the hot tub. Other than that all the staff were very kind and professional. The hotel's restaurant is great and offers amazing food made with local ingredients. Also their signature cocktails were delicious.

Start your day off right with our complimentary breakfast buffet, then soak in the stunning views from our two outdoor hot tubs. Take in the breathtaking scenery of the riverside, surrounding mountains, volcano Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull glacier. By far the most beautiful hotel we stayed in during our trip. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They upgraded our room and we had an amazing view. Room was clean and breakfast was very good with a lot of choices. They also have a restaurant for dinner which we didn’t try but seemed promising.

Offering garden views, Backyard Village is set in Hveragerði and offers a wellness area with a sauna and a hot tub. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. Guests can access the holiday home via private entrance. We loved everything about this cabin. We were in the Turquoise cabin. The location was the perfect base for exploring the Golden Circle and the neighbouring Selfoss. It was also convenient to Keflavik Airport as well as Reykjavik. In the town, there are restaurants, cafes, bars, grocery shops and petrol stations if you just want to hang about the village. We walked to the brewery our first night - everything’s within a 10-15 minute walk. There’s also some hiking and thermal springs close by (we didn’t get to dip in the springs because we ran out of daylight). On to the property - it was like being home and living near a friendly neighbour. It felt very private and the cabin was very warm in freezing temperatures. (once we identified the one window that was left on breathe!) There was everything we needed for cooking/eating and the coffee machine was a bonus. There’s no cable TV, but that was perfectly fine - we just cosied up to some Netflix movies at the end of the day (when we weren’t in the sauna or hot tub). The bathroom was spacious and clean and soap, etc. was available, which was unexpected and handy. The bedroom was comfortable for the both of us. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we sleep like babies the entire stay. Our favourite parts of our stay were the sauna and hot tub. We enjoyed a couple of sauna sessions during our stay and spent a few nights in the hot tub. On our last night, we were slightly bummed that we didn’t see the northern lights and around the time we were thinking to get out, they appeared and put on the most beautiful show. We didn’t have our cameras, but it’s a memory that will live with us for a long time. Last, but not least, the hosts were incredible and friendly and available when we needed them. They were also very communicative before and during our stay. We’ve been considering a second trip when the weather improves, and if we’re down that way, we Weill certainly stay in the Backyard Village again.
